Kehillat Netzach Israel Ashkelon Special Day Camp
Katyushas and Kassamim are falling, our soldiers are weary, and our
people are being hit in major cities in the north and south. This has
been a very stressful time for everyone in Israel. Many of us have
children in the army in Lebanon and other areas as well as the areas
being constantly hit by rockets. Everyone is glued to the televisions
and checking the news on the internet. It is very difficult to go on
with a normal every day routine. My youngest son Barak is stationed on
a military base called Avivim, maybe you have seen it on TV, and they
are being shelled constantly. Our Kehillah has been trying to reach
out to people in need. Ashkelon has been hit.
Friday, our three
week day camp ended. We had 132 children including children from the
North and 20 children from Sderot. These children and families have no
money and we needed to help them by providing a break from the kassams
and katyushas constantly hitting Sderot and the North. The children
are very nervous and uneasy and need to have some fun.

The
children prayed every morning together and had an opportunity to learn
music, arts and crafts, nature, swimming, trips and learn about
Shabbat. The leaders are from our Youth Movement and our Camp Director
was Alon Futterman who grew up in our kehillah.

We
received a very special donation from KBY and some private donors to
cover the costs of some children from families whom one parent is an
alcoholic, drug abuser or violent. We are still trying to raise an
additional $3750 to cover the costs for the children from the North
and $7500 from the children who came from Sderot who attended the
camp.

To help
with our efforts, make your donation using the short form on this page
(above right.) On the payment page, enter Kehillah Netzach
Israel Ashkelon Day Camp in the "special instructions / requests
field. Alternatively, your donations can be sent to KBY by

Thank you for your support and
please say a special pray for Israel, our soldiers and the return for
all the kidnapped soldiers.
